At Belle Grande Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, our activity director carefully plans exciting and fun-filled events for everyone, whether it’s an old favorite or a new adventure. Activities such as socializing with friends, old and new, attending religious services, art classes, computer classes, gardening classes, and taking van trips enrich our residents’ quality of living. All of our activities are geared toward maintaining independence and a high quality of living for each resident.

Belle Grande Brings Home Medals from Senior Olympics
Belle Grande Nursing and Rehabilitation Center was proud to participate in this year’s LNHA Region 4 Nursing Home Olympics in Alexandria.
The event is a series of athletic, Olympic-style events that have been adapted to the abilities of nursing facility residents. Since its inception in 1983 by the Louisiana Nursing Home Association (LNHA), this event has provided an arena for seniors to remain physically active, to socialize with peers, to compete and experience the excitement of winning. The events include Socrates trivia test, shot put and discus throw, bean bag toss, horseshoes, and a chariot (wheelchair) race. Additionally, a spirit award is given to the facility that shows the most team support and awards are given to the facilities with the best facility banner and table/booth decoration.
Our athletes did an amazing job and brought home several medals. Winners include:

- Blake Rachal – Discus and Wheelchair Race – Gold and Silver
- Jack Melder – Shotput/Softball Throw – Gold
- Leonard Smith – Beanbag Toss – Silver
- Patti Prince – Beanbag Toss- Silver
